A house between the hills and the sea

Villa Lapis sits in Rukavac, a quiet fishing village on the southern coast of Vis — Croatia's most remote inhabited island. The house is a few minutes' walk from Srebrna, widely considered the most beautiful beach on the island, and even closer to the small pebble beach at Tepluš.

Inside you'll find three bedrooms, each with a double bed, two bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and a comfortable living and dining area with air conditioning throughout.

Outside is where the villa really comes alive. The open-air terrace has a traditional Dalmatian stone grill where you can cook fresh fish from the morning vendors who pass through the village. Many of our guests say their favourite evenings were spent right here — grilling, drinking local wine, and watching the Sun go down.

Pet-friendly accommodation

We know your pets are family, so they're welcome at Villa Lapis at no extra charge. Villa Lapis Vis has a private garden where dogs can roam freely, and the nearby beaches are quiet and uncrowded — perfect for morning walks.

Vis island is wonderfully relaxed and dog-friendly, with outdoor dining at most restaurants and an official dog beach at Vartalac near Komiža. We're happy to share local tips on the best walking routes and pet-friendly spots when you arrive.

About me

I'm thrilled to welcome you to Villa Lapis and share a little bit about myself. My love for Vis began years ago and has only grown stronger over time. I'm passionate about exploring and enjoying everything this island has to offer, from olive trees and domestic vegetables to fresh fish dipped in homemade olive oil. When I'm not out sailing or discovering secluded beaches, you can find me reading, cooking, and savoring the local coffee and wine. I can't wait to share my love for Vis with you and make your stay unforgettable. :)

Rukavac & Vis island

Rukavac is a small settlement on the sheltered southern coast of Vis, about 10 km from Vis town and 16 km from Komiža. It is home to what is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Croatia, Srebrna beach.

The island of Vis was closed to tourists until 1989, which is why it remains Croatia's most unspoiled island. There are no large resorts or chain hotels here. What you'll find instead are exceptional seafood restaurants, local vineyards producing white Vugava wine, and the kind of clear water that makes you understand why people come back year after year. The Blue Cave on nearby Biševo island is one of Croatia's most visited natural attractions.

If you're a film fan, you may recognise the island — the sequel to Mamma Mia was filmed on Vis in 2017.
